Old Government House
A UNESCO World Heritage Site
Old Government House is the oldest surviving public building in Australia – and one of the 11 Australian Convict Sites listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Register.
The building played a significant administrative role during the convict era. It was also the ‘country residence’ of the first ten Governors of New South Wales.
Today, this elegant Georgian house in the heart of Parramatta Park is open to the public as a museum. It is managed by the National Trust of Australia (NSW).
Use the Pitt Street entrance when visiting Old Government House.
Guided tours
Old Government House is open to the public Thursday to Friday 10am - 4pm and Saturday to Sunday 11am - 4pm. You can be pre-purchase via the Old Government House Eventbrite ticketing page but walk ins are welcome. Group bookings and wedding photography are accepted.
